Project 2025 Women’s Rights is a global initiative to advance the rights of women and girls by 2025. It was launched by the United Nations in 2015 and is based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which include a goal to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
Project 2025 Women’s Rights focuses on five key areas:
The LSU Women’s Basketball team will begin their 2024-2025 season in November of 2024. The team will play 31 regular-season games, including 16 home games at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Tigers will face off against some of the top teams in the country, including SEC rivals Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee. The full schedule for the 2024-2025 season will be released later this year.
The LSU Women’s Basketball team has a long and storied history, dating back to 1974. The Tigers have won two national championships, in 2004 and 2007, and have appeared in 13 Final Fours. The team is led by head coach Kim Mulkey, who is entering her fourth season at LSU. Mulkey is one of the most successful coaches in college basketball history, having won three national championships at Baylor.
International Women’s Day 2025, celebrated annually on March 8th, is a globally recognized occasion to commemorate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while also focusing on areas requiring further advancement. This day serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The observance of International Women’s Day holds immense significance as it sheds light on the challenges and biases faced by women in various spheres of life. It underscores the need for collective action to break down barriers, promote equal opportunities, and foster an inclusive and just society where women can thrive and reach their full potential.
