Mother’s Day Weekend 2025 falls on Saturday, May 10th, and Sunday, May 11th. It is a time to celebrate and honor mothers and motherhood. Many people choose to spend the weekend with their mothers, taking them out to dinner, giving them gifts, or simply spending quality time together.
Mother’s Day has been celebrated in the United States since 1908, when Anna Jarvis, a Philadelphia woman, organized the first Mother’s Day celebration. The holiday was made a national holiday in 1914. In 1966, Congress passed a resolution designating the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.
