Medicare Advantage (MA), also known as Medicare Part C, is a type of health insurance plan offered by private insurance companies that contracts with Medicare to provide Part A and Part B benefits. Medicare enrollees can choose to receive their benefits through Original Medicare or through a Medicare Advantage plan.
Medicare Advantage plans must provide at least the same level of coverage as Original Medicare, and they may offer additional benefits, such as vision, dental, and hearing coverage. Medicare Advantage plans also typically have lower out-of-pocket costs than Original Medicare, and they may offer more flexibility in terms of coverage and provider choice.
