Martin Luther King 2025 is a national initiative to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King Jr. The initiative aims to promote King’s legacy of nonviolence and social justice, and to inspire a new generation of activists to fight for equality.
The initiative was launched in 2015 by the King Center, a nonprofit organization founded by King’s widow, Coretta Scott King. The initiative has since been endorsed by a wide range of organizations, including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), and the AFL-CIO.
