The Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) is a three-year cycle of Scripture readings used by many Christian denominations. The RCL was first published in 1992 and was revised in 2002. The 2025 RCL is the most recent revision of the lectionary.
The RCL is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the Bible over a three-year period. The readings are arranged in a thematic order, so that each Sunday’s readings relate to a particular theme. The RCL also includes readings from a variety of sources, including the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Apocrypha.
