The 2024-2025 Pell Grant schedule, officially known as the Federal Pell Grant Program, determines the maximum amount of financial aid students can receive for college tuition and fees during the 2024-2025 academic year through a federal grant that does not have to be repaid. It is designed to assist undergraduate students from low-income families pursue higher education. The amount of Pell Grant funding a student receives depends on their expected family contribution (EFC), the cost of attendance (COA) at their educational institution, and their enrollment status (full-time or part-time).
The Pell Grant program has been in existence since 1972. It was created to increase access to postsecondary education for low-income students. Pell Grants are awarded to students who have not yet earned a bachelor’s or professional degree, and who demonstrate financial need. The maximum Pell Grant award for the 2024-2025 academic year is $6,895.
