The American Mathematics Competition 8 (AMC 8) is a 25-question, 40-minute multiple-choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the study of mathematics and to develop problem-solving skills.
The AMC 8 is taken by approximately 150,000 students in the United States and Canada each year. The top-scoring students on the AMC 8 are invited to take the American Mathematics Competition 10 (AMC 10).
