“Sail Across the Sun 2025” is a total solar eclipse that will occur on April 8, 2025. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes directly between the Sun and Earth, and the Moon’s shadow falls on Earth’s surface. During totality, the Moon completely blocks the Sun’s light, and the Sun’s corona becomes visible.
The path of totality for the “Sail Across the Sun 2025” eclipse will begin in Mexico and move across the United States, Canada, and the North Atlantic Ocean. The eclipse will be visible from parts of 13 states in Mexico, 10 states in the United States, and 3 provinces in Canada. Totality will last for up to 4 minutes and 28 seconds in some locations.
