The U.S. National Figure Skating Championships have been held annually since 1914 to crown the national champions of the United States. The competition is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating, the national governing body for the sport in the United States, and is typically held in January. The Championships are considered the most prestigious figure skating event in the United States and serve as a key selection event for the U.S. team for the World Championships and the Olympics.

The Championships are open to skaters of all ages and levels, but only the top skaters in each discipline qualify to compete at the national level. The competition is divided into four disciplines: men’s singles, women’s singles, pairs, and ice dance. Each discipline is further divided into two age groups: senior and junior. The senior division is for skaters who are 18 years of age or older, while the junior division is for skaters who are 13 to 17 years of age.
